About F.A.S.T. Track
F.A.S.T. (funding accelerator for seniors transportation) Track is a national initiative supporting transportation innovation, led by HelpAge Canada and delivered by CanAge and O’Hara Aging + Accessibility Inc. Funded through a philanthropic Anonymous Donor, it harnesses the collaboration of other national thought-leaders, experts in aging and transportation as well as community consultation with the goal of accelerating the development of innovative transportation solutions for older Canadians.
HelpAge Canada works in partnership to improve and maintain the quality of life of vulnerable older persons and their communities in Canada and around the world. We work across Canada providing grants to enable accessibility and wellbeing for low-income older Canadians, supporting the creation of innovative programming at a local level, and delivering digital literacy programs.
HelpAge Canada, a partner of Global Affairs Canada, is currently working in Ethiopia, India, Kenya, Sri Lanka, Jamaica, Dominica, Haiti, Lebanon, and Eastern Ukraine. With over 45 years in operation, HelpAge Canada is a founding member of HelpAge International and is part of a global network of 158 member organizations operating in 86 countries.
F.A.S.T Track has retained Aislin O’Hara, an innovative seniors’ transportation and mobility expert, to provide strategic guidance, and sector expertise. As a nationally recognized thought leader in seniors’ transportation policy and partnerships, Aislin brings over 10 years of specialized experience to F.A.S.T Track’s various initiatives.
CanAge is Canada’s national seniors’ advocacy organization, working to improve the lives of older adults through advocacy, policy, and community engagement. We are non-partisan and backed by a pan-Canadian membership base.
CanAge has quickly established itself as Canada’s national advocate for issues affecting older people in our country, having ramped up operations last year in urgent response to the threat COVID-19 poses to vulnerable seniors in long-term care.
